Jacob has been drawing since he was four years old. His mother, who is an artist, as well, taught him the basics of drawing figures, shading, color mixing, and elements of design. Jacob’s main source of inspiration comes from classic fantasy movies, Dungeons and Dragons, and his own imagination. When asked about his process, Jacob said, “Anything I do–it just comes from here,” pointing to his head. When Jacob attends Open Hearts, he independently sets up his portable studio space at our center, pops in his headphones, and spends the day working dedicatedly on his fantasy paintings. His work truly transports the viewer to an otherworldly place.
